15 letters to his father William Kite and to his mother, 1890-1892. Contemporary copies made by Harry's brother Hezekiah. The letters were written on board the emigrant ship SS Ruapehu and from Hobart. Later letters are not transcribed in full. Includes a photo of Harry Kite and a Kite family tree. Also included are photocopies of Hezekiah Kite's work diary, 1891-1896. Hezekiah was a railway blacksmith at East Croydon, Surrey. Also included is a copy of a memorial from the workmen in the Engineer's Dept. of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway to Railway Management on the topic of annual holidays.
